If you’re into art, this is one place in Tehran you shouldn’t miss.
The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 1977 and has one of the most interesting collections of modern and contemporary art in the region, including works by major international and Iranian artists.
But the building itself is worth seeing too. Its design was inspired by traditional Iranian architecture, especially the form of badgirs, or windcatchers.
Walk through the galleries, take a look at the architecture, and you’ll see a side of Tehran that many visitors don’t expect.
